چکیده
We have conducted some simulations of biological pathways with hybrid functional Petri net (HFPN) after careful reading of papers and developed a powerful simulation tool “Cell Illustrator [5]” (CI) for representing biological pathways with HFPN. In this study, by using CI, we constructed pathway of CDK-dependent phosphorylation pathway and ARF-dependent pathway, to observe the effect of the phosphorylation and of the stabilization with simulation.

Novel Isatin-based activator of p53 transcriptional functions in tumor cells
Bioinorganic medicinal chemistry remains a hot field for research aimed at developing novel anti-cancer treatments. Discovery of metal complexes as potent antitumor chemotherapeutics such as cisplatin led to a significant shift of focus toward organometallic/ bioinorganic compounds containing transition metals and their chelates as novel scaffolds for drug discovery. In that way, transition met...
متن کاملA combined pathway to simulate CDK-dependent phosphorylation and ARF-dependent stabilization for p53 transcriptional activity.
The protein p53 is phosphorylated by a member of protein kinases such as CDK7, and stabilized by the protein ARF. The phosphorylation and stabilization of p53 is believed to enhance its transcriptional activity and act simultaneously. Biological pathways composed of experts knowledge obtained from the literature are including these activation mechanisms. However, the map of biological pathways ...
متن کاملCharacterization of the molecular mechanisms for p53-mediated differentiation.
The p53 tumor suppressor protein can induce both apoptosis and cell cycle arrest. Moreover, we and others have shown previously that p53 is a potent mediator of differentiation. For example, expression of ptsp53, a temperature-inducible form of p53, induces differentiation of leukemic monoblastic U-937 cells. The functions of p53 have for long been believed to be dependent on the transactivatin...

A noninvasive method for molecular imaging of the activity of different signal transduction pathways and the expression of different genes in vivo would be of considerable value. It would aid in understanding the role specific genes and signal transduction pathways have in various diseases, and could elucidate temporal dynamics and regulation at different stages of disease and during various th...
متن کاملCharacterization of ARF-BP1/HUWE1 Interactions with CTCF, MYC, ARF and p53 in MYC-Driven B Cell Neoplasms
Transcriptional activation of MYC is a hallmark of many B cell lineage neoplasms. MYC provides a constitutive proliferative signal but can also initiate ARF-dependent activation of p53 and apoptosis. The E3 ubiquitin ligase, ARF-BP1, encoded by HUWE1, modulates the activity of both the MYC and the ARF-p53 signaling pathways, prompting us to determine if it is involved in the pathogenesis of MYC...
